John Learmonth advises us on our investment strategy in Asia and our relations with other family businesses, family investment companies, potential partners and co-investors globally.

John founded Campden Publishing in the late 1980s. Over the next two decades the company was built into a leading global media group in the areas of healthcare and private wealth management, with John pioneering its provision of conferences and information for family offices, family businesses, significant private investors and their advisors in Europe and Asia. During this time he worked closely with the Family Business Network (FBN) and served on the original Advisory Council of Institute for Family Business (IFB) in the UK.

Campden was sold in 2006 and now John is an independent investor, advisor and consultant, whose work, in addition to his role with us, includes participating in a number of turnarounds and advising CEEMEA focussed merchant bank Gryphon Emerging Markets.

John is based in his home town of London, is a graduate of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where he read history, and holds a Yachtmaster Offshore certification from the Royal Yachting Association (RYA).
